Letter from the CEO: Welcoming 2025

As we welcome the new year, there is much to be grateful for—and much opportunity for group healthcare practices and leaders.

Polaris Healthcare Partners was fortunate to experience significant growth in the last year, thanks to many returning clients and new clients ready to take their practices to new heights. We were proud to help growing practices structure their partnership solutions for long-term success; accelerate operational excellence and growth for practices including iSmile Orthodontics and Pelican Landing Dental through our fractional COO and consulting services; support leading clinicians through the acquisition process as they grew across state lines and into new specialties; and spearhead exits for practices such as Lakeview Dental Care. We were also proud to spin off our Next Level Executive program under Perrin DesPortes’ leadership due to its ongoing popularity and success. And, we were featured in DentistryIQ, Dental Economics, Group Dentistry Now, and Authority Magazine.

We were also honored to meet many of you on the road as we led sessions and joined CareStack Inner Circle, AAPD, Evolving Group Dentistry, and Dentistry at Scale, the one-day virtual event we held with SMC.

During this time, we have been working hard to bring you new offerings that complement our existing services and professionals. This month, we introduced our Clinical Coaching program. This on-site service brings to your clinical team expertise, hands-on support, and guidance to ensure that clinical excellence is aligned to business goals.

As we look at expectations for 2025, this year holds much opportunity and is a significantly improved economic climate than what we experienced at the start of 2024. Group dental practices in the U.S. are expanding and evolving, driven by increased DSO affiliations, industry consolidation, and technological advancements.

The dental industry is witnessing increased consolidation, with large DSOs expanding their networks. This consolidation is driven by the need for operational efficiencies, access to advanced technologies, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. As a result, many young professionals are attracted to DSOs, making it key for independent group practices to be thoughtful about associate and partnership strategies and equity solutions, as well as mindfully growing given the evolving competitive landscape.

Technological advancements are continuing to play a crucial role in shaping group dental practices. The adoption of digital dental technologies has enabled these groups to create efficient workflows and standardized processes. The collection and analysis of large amounts of clinical and operational data present significant opportunities for improving patient care and operational efficiency. All of this progress should include investing in clinical education and training to ensure the team is maximizing these advancements.

For healthcare group practice leaders outside of the dental industry, 2025 predictions are optimistic. Many organizations reported improved operating margins, supported by stronger demand for outpatient and specialized services. Enhanced focus on efficient practice management, cost controls, and alternative payment models are driving financial stability.

No matter what type or size of practice you lead, we know one thing: 2025 holds the promise to be a transformative one, and we look forward to supporting your team to reach your goals.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.

Sincerely,
Diwakar  Sinha
